Frequently Asked Questions

  • There will be a combination of team building, character building, and faith building activities. These will be achieved with activities such as hiking, team games, physical challenges, worship, scripture, and time of solitude.

  • R3 is ideally designed for juniors and seniors in high school. This is not a hard and fast requirement, however the retreat is designed with older students in mind.

  • The majority of the retreat will take place on a private property that is within driving distance of the Twin Cities. There is nearby public acreage with multiple landscapes that will be explored during the duration of the retreat.

  • Groups will arrive on Thursday evening and depart Sunday morning.

  • A major part of the R3 model is building faith and relationships through small community. The ideal group size consists of 12 - 20 students. We can help you adjust or modify as needed.

  • There will be our own R3 volunteers involved, but we ask that each group brings one chaperone per 6 students. If the group is mixed genders, we will require that there will be the corresponding gender of chaperone. While we put an emphasis on the student to student relationship, we also want to develop the leader to student relationship.

  • Each person will be provided a packing list in preparation for the retreat. R3 will be providing most of the equipment necessary.

  • No outdoors or camping experience is necessary. We welcome all experience levels.

  • Yes, all meals, drinks, and snacks will be provided. Please provide information on any allergies.

    • Students will not be allowed to have their cell phones with them. R3 puts an emphasis on disconnecting. Students will be allowed to check in with their parents or guardians on a nightly basis using a chaperone’s or volunteer’s cell phone.
